Egytraffic Africa

It has become Egypt’s first priority to push the development process within the country’s infrastructure framework; establishing internal roads network to link the cities and provinces of the country. As a result; 5,000 km of new roads have been built over the past three years, in addition to another 3,000 km for the old road network, and still 80% of the projected plan is yet to be achieved over years to come.

In accordance with this plan set by the Ministry of Transport during the years up to 2022; Egypt aims to:

  • Develop new roads with a total length of 1,000 km at cost of 17 billion EGP.
  • Complete the existing road network with a total length of 1,500 km and the cost of 15 billion EGP.
  • Complete the construction of several axes on the Nile at a cost of 8 billion EGP, with the development of 20 overpass bridges at a cost of 3 billion EGP.

It is forecasted that during the third phase of the projected plan; Egypt would have established:

  • A total length of 2,200 km in parallel with the development of the current network of 2,500 km at cost of 7 billion EGP.
  • Three new axes on the Nile with a total cost of 9 billion EGP.
  • Twelve overpass bridges with a total cost of 2 billion EGP.
  • A free road network to support the industry and trade in Southern Egypt (Upper Egypt) by developing an area of 1,500 km and total cost of 12 billion EGP; reflecting the country’s interest in establishing and maintaining a fully-fledged road network. Consequently, this creates numerous investment opportunities to the national and international companies working in this sector, not mentioning opening countless job vacancies in hopes to minimize unemployment.

In line with the national duty and in line with the unprecedented boom in road construction, bridges, maintenance, infrastructure and logistics services; it is found that an essential opportunity to support these efforts is by organizing an exhibition and conference in which all local and international companies working in this field will take part and exhibit the latest technology of road construction and maintenance, and all other industry related elements.
